We have partnered with Additive Industries, as their agent for the UK and Ireland. This partnership is designed to aid the maturation of the UK and Ireland’s market for industrial metal additive manufacturing systems. The systems are transformative to a wide range of industries from aerospace and automotive industries to medical and general machine building industries.
Who are Additive Industries?
Established in 2012, within the ‘Brainport Eco Structure’ in the Eindhoven region of the Netherlands, Additive Industries are the world’s first dedicated equipment manufacturer for metal additive manufacturing systems. Founded by Jonas Wintermans and Daan Kersten, Additive Industries is committed to industrialising 3D printing for the world’s fastest moving markets and attempting to lead the way to a digital future.
The company is built on the principle of open innovation, attempting to capitalise on proven technology. In addition to this, the customer is placed at the centre of their business. By always putting the customer first, their systems allow for improved design, improved performance and therefore increased competitive position within their respective markets.
They carry out research and development activities, including system integration and software development, from their central location in the Netherlands. The activities more closely positioned to the customer are executed from regional process and application development centres, based in North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. This aligns with their ‘customer first’ mindset.
Their metal additive manufacturing systems give laser precision, increase speed and productivity allowing businesses to scale up production and grow. They are accelerating the manufacture of high quality and functional metal parts offering modular end to end laser powder bed fusion systems, their MetalFAB1 System and a seamlessly integrated information platform. Our experience and expertise within the 3D printing and Industrial Laser market means that we are perfectly positioned to introduce the MetalFAB1 System to the market.
The MetalFAB1 System
The MetalFAB1 System is the world’s first modular workflow system for onsite metal additive manufacturing. It has a revolutionary extensible design, allowing your investment to grow alongside your business. The extension and it’s upgradable nature makes the MetalFAB1 future proof. Beginning with the Process and Application Development tool, the user is able to create prototype parts. Automation, material handling and other advanced feature can then be added.
The MetalFAB1 system allows for an entirely hands off build process, utilising integrated robotics for the initialisation, material supply and de-powdering processes. Workers never have to come into contact with the loose powder, making it one of the safest systems available on the market. It has dual build chambers, multiple lasers and storage modules allowing full automation. It can also be controlled online and remotely via the Additive World Platform. Builds can be monitored and managed regardless of how many modules have been added to the base software.
The Additive World Platform can also be used as a repository for designs, whether these have been derived from CAD or CAM. The full version control feature ensures that only signed off work is sent to production. Furthermore, multiple models can be sent through the build process in sequence, with the ability to monitor and manage each one in turn. This platform increases flexibility and productivity allowing the MetalFAB1 system to be used in even the most demanding of industries, with reliable results every time.
Our partnership will allow both Additive Industries and ourselves to grasp metal additive manufacturing opportunities. The UK and Irish market are hugely important to the industry and have seen increased demand for metal additive manufacturing in recent years. By acting as Additive Industries agent for the UK and Ireland, we are able to accelerate the growth of the metal additive manufacturing market, strengthen our commercial strategy, and most importantly, better serve our customers needs.
