MakerBot RapidRinse
RapidRinse support material is soluble in regular tap water, so is easily removed at the end of a production job, and avoids the need of sanding or finishing, as may be required with break away supports. It is also more convenient, as it does not require investment or space for wash tanks or specialised chemicals, making it suitable for use in smaller production environments, and education. Compatible with MakerBot ABS-R and ABS-CF.

MakerBot PVA
Another water-soluble support material, MakerBot PVA is compatible with lower-temperature materials, making it suitable for use with PLA, Nylon, Tough and PETG. As with RapidRinse, it dissolves in tap water, so there’s no need to invest in or find the space for wash tanks or specialist chemicals, making it suitable for office and education use.

Stratasys SR-30
Where MakerBot PVA is optimised for use with low temperature materials, Stratasys SR-30, designed for use at higher temperatures, is compatible with ABS and ASA material. Being soluble for easy and clean removal, SR-30 dissolves in a mild sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution, so requires the use of wash tanks.
