Microscopic layers of liquid polymer are jetted onto a build tray and instantly cured by UV light before the next layer is built. The Stratasys Objet500 Connex3 utilises PolyJet printing to offer a highly versatile range of production properties from transparency and flexibility to both neutral and vibrant finishes.
With a large build envelope and Z axis resolution of 1600dpi the speed and accuracy of other Connex printers remains, whilst hundreds of composite material mixes allow a huge variety of characteristics from surface finish to shore hardness to be replicated.
The Objet500 has 10 different colour palettes, including various properties from translucent to opaque. Up to 3 base resins can be mixed at any one time meaning it is possible to build both rubberlike and clear parts into a single model. Users are able to create vibrant and colourful prototypes or create sleek and polished parts. There is no longer a need to choose between form and function.
