New soluble support material makes PolyJet 3D printing faster

The recent formnext show in Frankfurt saw the unveiling of a new soluble support material for Stratasys PolyJet printers. Shipping next year and called SUP706, this advanced material lets you remove the support structure from the finished piece by soaking it in a cleaning solution and rinsing the printed part in water.

Mark Tyrtania, sales director for our 3D printing and rapid manufacturing division, explains: “The PolyJet range of products are fantastic for designers, engineers and bureaus for creating accurate, smooth, colourful, detailed pieces. I’m really pleased that this new material offers true hands-free support removal, making the whole processes so much easier.”

Faster, better, cheaper

“With the new SUP706 support material, users can confidently create smaller, finer-detailed models without the worry that these intricate designs will be damaged when removing support with a waterjet system. Not only that, but the launch brings with it a whole host of general production and business improvements for the 3D printing industry.”

“High production environments such as service bureaus and in-house prototype workshops can benefit from a faster and easier support material removal process, plus the ability to easily clean multi-material parts. It’s great news for our customers as it’s easier and faster to get to the final printed piece, meaning they can be more productive and achieve a lower cost per part.”

“The unprecedented combination of benefits that this new support material brings to the PolyJet 3D printing process paves the way for high volume, efficient and cost effective 3D printing. It’s set to make life easier for the operators, improving margins with a lower total cost of ownership per part, while simultaneously taking applications to the next level.”

“At a similar cost to current support materials, but much better performance, it’s worth giving us a call to find out how SUP706 can help your business today.”

SUP706 is available on all Stratasys Connex 1, 2, 3 and Object 260, 350 and 500 printers and works with all PolyJet materials. Printers will need a software update – give us a call to find out more.
