Introducing Form 3L Powered by Low Force Stereolithography
With more than 40 million parts printed in the field and in excess of 50 thousand printers, Formlabs has announced new hardware that will help usher in a new era for industrial 3D Printing: The Form 3L.
The Form 3L is the first affordable large format resin 3D Printer, available for pre-order now and being released for delivery in early Q3 2020.
Powered by advance Low Force Stereolithography (LFS) technology, the Form 3L offers ground-breaking print quality and printer reliability, along with lighter supports, advanced sensing and alerts. The printer also enables user replaceable printer components for easy maintenance and a platform for more advanced material possibilities and applications.
New software features, such as the ability to send print jobs remotely and manage a shared print queue, open up a new way to work across teams and locations. The Form 3L is the go-to solution for a wide range of industries because of consistent performance and unparalleled ease of use.
One of the many enhanced features of a Form 3L is the completely re-engineered approach to resin-based 3D Printing which drastically reduces the forces exerted on parts during the print process. The flexible tank and linear illumination delivers incredible surface quality and print accuracy. A lower print force allows for a light-touch support that tears away with ease and is a complete game changer when it comes to post processing of parts, giving you more time to focus on design and creation.
A redesigned optics engine and Light Processing Unit (LPU) contains a system of lenses and mirrors to ensure delivery of accurate and repeatable prints. Within the LPU, a galvanometer positions the high-density laser beam in the Y direction, passes it through a spatial filter, and directs it to a fold mirror and parabolic mirror to consistently deliver the beam perpendicular to the build plane.
