Get the job done faster with Makerbot Method materials

MakerBot Materials for Method are manufactured to exacting diameter and quality specifications. Shipped in a vacuum-sealed metalised polyester bag, quality is preserved right up until opening.

The Smart Spool provides valuable information including material type, colour and amount remaining via an RFID chip directly to MakerBot Print, while a built-in desiccant absorbs any moisture exposure during the material loading process.

Makerbot Nylon Carbon Fibre

Print strong, heat-resistant, metal replacement parts with this carbon fibre-reinforced nylon material. It has been optimised for a high strength-to-weight ratio, stiffness and heat resistance. It is ideal for structural applications and metal replacements.

Compatible with: Makerbot Method, Method Carbon Fiber, Method X and Method X Carbon Fiber (Also requires the 1C material extruder)

Makerbot Tough

With double the impact strength of ABS, Makerbot Tough offers superior durability for industrial prototyping and manufacturing aid applications. Makerbot developed the material to overcome two issues that can affect ABS: warping and curling. It is available in black, orange, grey and white colours.

Makerbot Nylon

Makerbot Specialty Nylon is an engineering-grade material that is optimised for high abrasion resistance due to its excellent flexural, tensile and impact strength, along with a heat resistance of up to 180°C.

Makerbot PETG

PETG is excellent for printing high-performance parts that demand excellent durability with temperature, moisture, and chemical resistance. Engineers and designers can use PETG to produce durable parts including end-use parts, functional prototypes and jigs and fixtures. It is available in black, red and natural colours.

Makerbot PLA

PLA is a great material for early concept models because it is easy to use, office-friendly, and works well with breakaway supports. PLA is a corn-based plastic and is biodegradable. It is available in red, black, natural, grey, orange and white colours.

Makerbot ABS

Makerbot ABS is a production-grade material for creating functional prototypes, manufacturing tools and end-use parts. Some other desktop ABS formulations contain damaging modifiers and stabilisers that lead to warping and cracking. But this ABS formulation lets engineers achieve part properties close to injection moulded parts, with high dimensional accuracy, durability, and repeatability.

Compatible with: Makerbot Method X and Method X Carbon Fiber

Makerbot ASA

Makerbot Precision ASA is a weather-resistant alternative to ABS. It is used widely for functional prototypes and end-use parts in demanding outdoor environments. It has properties similar to ABS, but with better UV and chemical resistance for retaining gloss, colour and mechanical properties when exposed to the elements.

Compatible with: Makerbot Method X and Method X Carbon Fiber

Makerbot PC-ABS

PC-ABS is a strong, engineering-grade material that has both a high heat resistance and high impact resistance. The addition of polycarbonate makes PC-ABS a great alternative when ABS does not provide enough impact resistance, but a high heat resistance is still required.

Compatible with: Makerbot Method X and Method X Carbon Fiber

Makerbot PC-ABS FR

PC-ABS FR is a flame-retardant version of PC-ABS. Flame retardance is a common requirement for materials used in the production of vehicles such as automobiles and airplanes.

Stratasys SR-30

SR-30 has been developed by 3D printing pioneers Stratasys to work seamlessly with ABS, ASA, and various other high-temperature materials. Using SR-30 with these materials can yield exceptional results not possible with PVA.

Makerbot PVA

PVA is a water-soluble support material that is very office friendly. It is a great option for printing the most complex geometries in a prototyping environment.
