DraftGrey (RGD750) is a cost-effective, rigid material that is designed specifically for the Super High Speed print mode on various Objet30 and J-series machines. The Super High Speed mode allows for ultra-rapid single material models, helping to reduce time to market and remove the need for expensive third-party prototyping.

Polyjet 3D printers transform the prototyping process, reducing timescales considerably and letting design teams get on with the process of testing and refining so that products can get out to market, or onto the final client, far faster than traditional methods allow.

Modellers use DraftGrey in the early stages of the design process. It helps teams to assess shape, line and form, before designing and then prototyping in more detail. It was designed in response to feedback from designers who said that, at the beginning of their process, they are mostly concerned with deciding what the shape of the model will be.

They said that using a neutral colour helps the decision process, as no-one involved in the early stages becomes caught up in what the colour should be. This helps to keep design conversations focussed on the form and function of the product. Once the shape has been decided, colour can be added into future models using the one of the other Stratasys Polyjet materials.

The added speed that iterations can be produced using DraftGrey only helps accelerate the design process further. Using DraftGrey is the cheapest and fastest way to model on a Polyjet machine, with parts being printed at double the speed of the next fastest printing mode, at a 57-micron layer thickness.
